BIOGRAPHY
Born in Paris in 1962, Marie-Laure lived in the United States and then India, a country that had a profound influence on her creative work. Fascinated by the restoration of paintings and gilding, she trained for 12 years in a Paris workshop, mastering the complex techniques of this age-old craft. She passed her gilding CAP in 2004.
In 2006, she launched the "Seed of Life" concept. First in gilded wood, then in bronze, and finally in glass in the Murano workshops.
She focuses on raw materials. Fascinated by the discovery of the world's largest seed: rare, mysterious, the coco de mer is a prodigy of nature. She shapes and transforms these primitive, singular forms, inventing new materials. She dresses them in a gold that sings through the magic of burnishing.
This perfect metal, flesh of the gods, symbol of illumination, immortalizes them. She works with new materials, bronze, resin and glass, exploiting the interplay of light and shadow. She moves towards ever-larger dimensions that blend in with nature. In the hearts of men, the work transcends borders to become a seed of life.
